What's actually interesting is I've read through the SOP that the SBA puts out for this program, and there's actually no specific, I have not seen, that there is a specific qualification one needs to have. I believe it comes really from experience. I do have the engineering degrees, I'm a licensed professional engineer in multiple states, I'm a certified energy manager, so I think if you want specific qualifications, these types of programs would generally fall under one of those, but I think a lot of it comes from the experience of understanding the buildings, understanding the systems, and then helping them sort of match that up with the program requirements.
And as long as you are hitting all of the bullet points the SBA wants to see, they know that you're doing a full engineering analysis, you're not just throwing out random numbers to help that client along, they're okay and they're going to start to approve your reports.
